Our Ministries

Our Mission: Helping students discover a redeemed identity and purpose in Christ, belonging in the church, and purpose in the Great Commission.
Faith Foundations and House Group have weekly programming during the school year (September - May). If you are interested in attending a House Group summer event, please contact us using the form below!

Faith Foundations

Grades 5 & 6

Sundays at 10:00am during the service
Students will learn about the fundamentals of the Christian faith through core questions called Catechism. Each week students will participate in thoughtful and engaging lessons with our volunteer leaders to unpack a new aspect of the Biblical narrative, theology, or Christianity through a simple question-and-answer format.

House Group

Grades 7 - 12

Sundays from 4:00 - 6:00pm at the Hofman's House
House Group is a place for students to make friends, learn about and have real conversations about their faith, and continue growing in all aspects of life. At House Group we encourage students to develop a strong sense of community, commitment to the church body, a clear understanding of the foundational truths of the Christian faith, and a thriving personal relationship with Jesus.

Our Team

Ellen Hofman NextGen/City Ministry Coordinator

Ellen and her husband, Brett, host the 7th-12th grade House Group at their house. They have been serving at mosaic church since it's launch, and have been involved with Student Ministry for the past two years. Ellen joined staff at mosaic in 2023 and has enjoyed being able to take on a larger role in carrying out student ministry for our growing young population!

Ellyn Boland Youth & Community Resident

Ellyn loves working with students and started volunteering at House Group in the fall of 2023 when she moved back to Marshalltown. She has enjoyed getting to know the students and was excited to join staff this January as a youth and community resident!
Additionally, there are over a dozen more volunteers who have answered the call to minister to mosaic's students and who are having a great impact on Faith Foundations and House Group!

If you would like your student to attend Faith Foundations or House Group, or you are interested in volunteering with one of our ministries, contact Ellen Hofman (NextGen/City Ministry Coordinator) in the form below or by email at
