MISSION

“A redeemed people for the redemption of all people”

WHO WE ARE - Mosaic has been named and branded around the concept of gospel redemption; Broken people scattered then gathered together, mended, and made whole by the Master-craftsman, Jesus Christ. The vessel in our logo is a picture of this redemption for us both individually and communally.

This is our Identity; A REDEEMED PEOPLE.

WHAT WE’RE DOING - In our being gathered, mended, and made whole, we are purposed in our redemption to be a carrier and a means by which that redemption is revealed to others outside of us. A product produced by the Master-craftsman with the purpose to pour out what is in us, the grace and truth of Jesus Christ.

This is our Mission: FOR THE REDEMPTION OF ALL PEOPLE.

VISION

The vision of  Mosaic is something that is continually changing as we continue to grow and sense God's leading in Marshalltown. This is a spot you'll want to keep tabs on as we are currently revising and refining our church vision for the future! Stay Tuned!

VALUES

Mosaic's Family values are our unique way of stating: "This is WHY we do this!". These are the shared convictions that, along with the influence of the Holy Spirit, guide our actions and decisions.

1. 'K'ingdom Postured 'c'hurch

We are one little ‘c’ church in the community that desires to build God’s BIG ‘K’ Kingdom. Mosaic is one unique expression of MANY, both in our community and around the world. But over all the Churches of Jesus Christ in the world, one thing is common: JESUS IS KING. We want to ensure we conduct ourselves as such so we value partnerships with local organizations, local churches, and local people as we strive to stay focused on God's desire for humanity over our own personal and congregational success.

2. HOLISTIC DISCIPLESHIP

At Mosaic Church, we believe a disciple of Jesus is someone who seeks to:

BE with Jesus
BECOME like Jesus
DO what Jesus does

The following of Jesus integrates into every facet of our lives and as such, we want to seek the growth and maturity of each disciple in such a way by cultivating disciples in our family who are being transformed in every part of their being; from vibrant and life-giving personal time with Jesus to challenging and encouraging relationships with other disciples to making disciples and sharing the gospel, we seek to become like Jesus in every way!

3. IDENTITY ROOTED ACTIVITY

Disciples of Jesus who are abiding in the close personal relationship they have with Him are rooted in who He says they are and how He has redeemed them. From that place, as a disciple grows in Christ-likeness, he becomes a more outward-facing disciple and begins to do what Jesus does. But so often individually and communally, we can get stuck doing what has been done before or what is expected by others. We deeply value and uphold who we believe God has made Mosaic to be and ONLY from that place and by God's leading do we minister and lead. We seek to stay true to who we are as a church family and allow God's redemption to work through us authentically.

4. FAITHFUL PRESENCE

We seek to become a people faithfully doing what Jesus would do if He were in Marshalltown. That means, our interactions, involvements, and investments in the City of Marshalltown should reach into every corner of our community as our faith family lives in this community. We believe being a disciple who is active, intentional, and loving is the greatest method of bringing the gospel to all people in our community.

OUR COMMON CONFESSION

If you have questions about these beliefs or would like to learn more about where these beliefs were founded, please contact an elder or your Connection Group leader.

Scriptures

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. The Bible is God’s infallible, inerrant Word, and our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. All Scripture is a testimony to Jesus Christ, who is Himself the focus of divine revelation.

Salvation

We believe salvation is God’s deliverance of people from His wrath through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and God’s ultimate work through Christ to restore all things to perfection in the new heavens and new earth. All of mankind has rebelled against God and is condemned to eternal death. Jesus, God’s Son, died in the place of sinners. Jesus rose from the dead, conquering sin & death. Through faith in Jesus, people can experience God’s forgiveness and have hope of eternal life with Him. One day Jesus will return to make all things new and all who know Jesus will be raised to life.

The Kingdom and Final Things

We believe in the Kingdom of God & His final reign over all things. At present, Christians live under God’s rule while we wait for the fullness of God’s Kingdom that will be expressed at the return of Jesus. When he returns, Jesus will judge all mankind in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous, in their resurrected and glorified bodies, will dwell forever with Christ in the new heavens and new earth.

God (God, Father, and Holy Spirit)

We believe there is one and only one living and true God, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. This eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe in Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal, visible return in glory to judge the earth. We believe in the Holy Spirit, coeternal with the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit inspired the Scripture, convicts of sin, calls people to salvation, transforms us to holiness and gifts the Body of Christ for service.

The Church

We believe in the universal church as the Body of Christ, including believers from every tribe, tongue, people and nation. We believe in the local church, consisting of a local family of believers, associated by covenant in the faith, seeking to extend the gospel to the ends of the earth. The scriptural officers of a local church are elders and deacons. Each local church is called to faithfully proclaim the Gospel, administer the symbolic ordinances of believers baptism and communion, and call its members to holy living.
